The Plant Propagation Workshop was delivered as a focused, hands-on education session for local residents in Rivervale.
As outlined in BCEC’s 2025 Chair’s Report, this workshop reflected our impact-first approach to community education: success is measured by what participants can do next, not just by event attendance. Participants left with practical propagation knowledge they can apply and share to support local biodiversity across gardens, verges and community spaces.
The event was run with a clear risk and mitigation plan covering safe tool handling, allergy management, trip prevention, weather considerations and first aid readiness, supporting a safe and positive learning environment for all attendees.
Impact
- Delivered a practical, small-group propagation session focused on safe and confident participation
- Equipped participants to continue propagating and sharing local native plants at home and in the community
- Demonstrated BCEC's impact-focused education model, measuring outcomes beyond attendance
